Tiyé Aalem (presented by Krea)

Tiyé Aalem is a multimedia artist working at the intersection of traditional craft and machine intelligence. As Creative Lead at Krea, Tiyé crafts demos and workshops to integrate generative-assisted workflows for companies like Coca-Cola, Pixar, and Spotify. 

Rooted in traditional illustration, Tiyé's practice explores the relationship between hand-drawn work and generative tools. As a Watson Fellow, he documented the intersection of skateboarding and art culture in Tokyo and Addis Ababa, where he contributed as a graphic designer for Kushineta Skate, Ethiopia's first skate brand, and led community mural projects. 

Before joining Krea, Tiyé was Lead Artist at Wand, where he helped develop a sketch-to-image AI drawing app for Apple Pencil. His work has been presented at the Tribeca Film Festival and Cannes Lions. Based in Brooklyn, New York, he continues to draw in his sketchbook every day.
